Build It from the Ground Up
The Local Comptroller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities at the local site or regional office. This role ensures compliance with corporate policies, Canadian accounting standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting operational decision-making. The Local Comptroller acts as the key finance liaison between the site and head office.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full accounting cycle for the local entity, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for site operations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies, including proper treatment of exploration and evaluation costs.
• Monitor and control site budgets, cost tracking, and variance analysis; provide insights to operational managers.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.
• Oversee cash management at the site, including bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
• Support audits (internal and external) by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Coordinate tax filings and ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including mining-specific incentives.
• Implement and maintain ERP systems and financial reporting tools at the site level.
• Act as a business partner to site leadership, providing financial analysis for operational decisions.
• Supervise and develop local finance staff.
Qualifications
• CPA designation (or in progress) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in mining, natural resources, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Canadian tax regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in development-stage or junior mining companies.
• Familiarity with flow-through shares and mining tax credits.
• Exposure to site-based operations and cost control.
Skills & Competencies
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with site and corporate teams.
• Fluent English; French is a strong asset (if not fluent desire to become fluent is required); Spanish (asset)
