SENIOR MINING ENGINEER POSITION

Fresnillo is seeking a candidate to fill the permanent position of senior mining engineer. Based in Val
d’or, the candidate will actively participate in the development of the Novador project.

Fresnillo plc. (Fresnillo) is a leading precious metals group based in Mexico. We are the world’s leading
silver producer and one of Mexico’s largest gold producers, with several mines in operation. We also
hold a portfolio of advanced projects across South and North America, including the Novador gold
project located in the prolific Val d’Or mining district, in northwestern Quebec, Canada. Fresnillo
recently acquired the Novador project and is currently conducting a feasibility study with the goal of
developing the next leading gold mine in the Val d’Or region.

Job description & responsabilities

• Optimise open-pit and underground mine design and sequencing to achieve the best strategic and financial outcomes.
• Develop life-of-mine (LOM), long-term, and strategic mine plans.
• Participate in engineering projects including, among other things, ground support, ventilation, mine infrastructures, and pumping systems.
• Contribute to OPEX and CAPEX cost estimates, scheduling, and resource planning.
• Provide technical input to feasibility studies, budgets, and business planning processes.
• Ensure plans align with geotechnical, geological, environmental, and operational constraints.
• Manage consultants, contractors, and suppliers to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective outcomes.
• Provide expert engineering leadership across all project phases to ensure design integrity, constructability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with site and corporate stakeholders to support a comprehensive integrated mine plan.
• Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
• Mentoring and training of engineers and project teams.

Qualifications, experience and skills required

• Hold a university degree in mining engineering.
• Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or another professional order recognized in Canada.
• Have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in senior positions and project management in open-pit operations (required) and in underground mines (preferred).
• Previous experience in feasibility studies and proven ability to develop successful mine plans.
• Excellent knowledge of Datamine software is preferred, or other software as Deswik, Hexagon MinePlan or Vulcan.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including mine operations, geology, environment, metallurgy, hydrogeology, geotechnical and civil engineering.
• Ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigating actions
• Ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, in both English and French (preferred).
