Probe Gold is pleased to actively collaborate with the Wildlife Management Directorate of Abitibi-Témiscamingue from theMinistère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs. (MELCCFP) on the Val-d’Or caribou protection initiative.
In this regard, after several exchanges, a first site visit to the Novador mining project took place on November 21, with a representative from MELCCFP. The goal of this visit was to identify areas with significant quantities of lichen that could be harvested. The collected lichen will be used to feed the Val-d’Or caribou, which are kept in an enclosure under the responsibility of the MELCCFP. Furthermore, Probe Gold will also conduct lichen harvesting on another private property, continuing the collaboration with MELCCFP. Initially scheduled for the end of 2024, this activity was postponed to 2025 due to weather conditions
